New Thing #125: Hawaiian Pale Ale

It’s my friend’s fortieth birthday tonight and we ended up on the patio at Allen’s drinking some fabulous beers.

I chose the Spearhead Hawaiian Pale Ale for the obvious reason: it sounded awesome.

And for the most part it is. At first sip it’s pretty bitter but that’s quickly replaced by a very sharp pale ale taste. Underneath it all is a hint of pineapple which is something I never expected to find in an ale, but is never the less quite nice.

A beautiful evening on a beautiful patio with a beautiful ale to accompany it all.
